Notes: The Tea House was purchased in Tokyo, Japan, shipped to Compton and constructed in the woods near the carriage house (now Widener Education Center) in 1891. It was removed in 1939 by directive of the Arboretum Advisory Board. House parts and furnishings were dispersed to Penn Museum and Philadelphia Museum of Art. The tea garden and pond were constructed by K. Sato in 1898.

    The 1978 construction of the eco-friendly, water runoff retarding pervious pavement parking and driveway. Thie was the first such project in the area and served as a model for other eco-friendly projects for decades to follow. The 26 8x10" prints include multiple construction stages and include the completed outdoor stone path and steps to the lower levels of Widener, which were a major safety and accibility improvement.
