Note: Photo from the collection of Dr. John Harshberger, Professor of botany at the University of Pennsylvania and president of the American Ecological Society in 1926. He authored "Phytogeographic Survey of North America", "Textbook of Mycology and Plant Pathology", and "The Vegetation of the New Jersey Pine Barrens". The negatives of his photographs and his original notebooks, images of which appear in these Archives, will soon be accessible at the University of Pennsylvania. |
