Rock wall with alpine plants in foreground; rustic seat and semi-circular steps and balustrade on left. Deciduous trees without leaves in mid-ground. On the horizon is Compton mansion with glassed-in porch and pyramidal roof on tower. Notes: Lydia's Seat, steps and balustrade constructed by Pringle Borthwick in 1909-1910.
