Description |
Mature leafless Chestnut tree on right of concrete steps at corner of Formal Garden. Several low lateral branches appear to be propped up by posts. Ground is covered in snow; large shrub in foreground on left; small tree on right. Gardener's cottage on far right. Number 25 written in upper left corner. Notes: The 1914 Compton Atlas by Pugh & Hubbard shows this was a double trunk tree in the center of the southeast quadrant of the Formal Garden. Photogapher was standing at southeast corner of Formal Garden. Number indicates this photo was part of a series. |
