Description |
Swan Pond and Love Temple. Mature trees and shrubs around pond and in distance. Compton mansion on horizon. Handwritten on print: "Duck Pond in Spring." Notes: 4.5x6.5 inch print from acetate film. Original photograph taken c. 1913, judging by size of double-trunk deciduous tree near temple. Compare with same tree in photograph taken in 1913 (2004.1.49). Swan Pond was constructed c. 1904. Love Temple was designed by Ernesto Ermete Gazzeri of Rome, Italy, installed at Compton in 1906. |
