Gilbert Carlin (5) and William Carlin, Jr (2) sitting in the Japanese Garden 1919 Note: The Carlin Family lived in the Farmhouse circa 1917-1919 (house no longer standing). Mr. William Carlin senior was hired as chauffeur while James O'Neil was away at war. He went on to work for Sophie duPont Ford and Bruce Ford, and reside at SugarLoaf Cottage at 9230 Germantown Ave after residing in Mt Airy for a couple of years.. Gilbert W. Carlin sent the originals and a long letter of description and recollections to the Arboretum on October 1, 1991. Copies remains in the Arboretum Archives (1992.1.1-.8). |
