Copyright Steven Goldblatt Note: This pair of swans was a tercentary gift to the City of Philadelphia from the City of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on April 29, 1982. The new swans were considered reminiscent of Elsa and Lohengrin, two white swans that gave the pond its name in Lydia Morris' day. Love Temple designed by Ernesto Ermete Gazzeri of Rome, Italy and installed at Compton in 1906. |
