Japanese stone monument. The pagoda has both Sanskrit and Japanese inscriptions on the front. The Japanese inscription reads: "Presented to say Mass for the Salvation of the Ancestors who call 'Enyuin-Tenyo-Myoju-Zenjioni and Senshoin-Shinko-Miyoshi-Taishi." Buddhistic name--Rokujio-Uhiyoe-Masan-obu-Fujiwara, ninth descendant of Rokujio-Izumonokami-Fiujisato-Fujiwara at the province of Yamanto Rokujio, town of Shoshimo county."
Text on reverse (obscured by mount remains): In 1905, Mr. Muto designed the Hill and Water Garden for John Morris."
